Government Higher Primary School, Jambur

  • STATUS: Completed in 2015
  • LOCATION: Govt Higher Primary School, Jambur village, Channarayapattana Taluk, Karnataka, India

This rural school was operating in a dilapidated structure and desperately needed 2 classrooms. Mr. Venkateshmurthy, of Mysore, Karnataka, a civil engineer with a distinguished career and a philanthropist involved in many charitable causes in India, adopted this school under OSAAT’s “Adopt-a-School” program. He has graciously dedicated the school to OSAAT.

The Domino Effect

THE DOMINO EFFECT: Mr. Venkateshmurthy got involved with OSAAT as a volunteer when OSAAT was analyzing the RFP received from the Nazarbad school in Mysore, in 2008. His diligent site visits and analysis of needs of the Nazarbad school in Mysore helped OSAAT adopt that school. His advice and supervision of the construction work were instrumental in keeping the cost of construction under control, and the project was completed successfully in 2009. On his own, in 2015, Mr. Venkateshmurthy contributed to the construction 2 new classrooms for the Jambur school.
