  • GRADES: 1 TO 8
  • TOTAL COST OF PROJECT: INR 60 lakhs

The school is located at about 20 Kms from Haveri and 15 Kms from Byadagi, which is very close to Kaginele. It is a remote place and is not well connected by public transportation. People are mostly engaged in agriculture. There aren’t many schools nearby – a GHPS at Kerodi about 3 Kms away and an LPS at Nellikoppa, about 3 Kms away. The students are bright and have brought many laurels to the school. The office room is full of them. Their teachers have won the best teacher awards.

The school needs 3 Nali-Kali Room, 5 class rooms and toilets. This project is being made possible by the generous contributions from Amadeus.
As of today, the school does not have a single class room which is safe. Only one RCC structure is in good shape and that is being used as an office and a computer room. One room built in 1990 has been demolished. Two rooms built in 1994 are in shambles and are permanently closed. In the adjacent RCC building which was built in 2004, the walls have cracked so badly that one can see the outside of the room through the cracks. However, classes 1 & 2 are being held in this room. There are 4 rooms in the original old tiled building. The walls have developed cracks. The BEO has given directions to demolish these four rooms along with the other two locked rooms, but the school has not demolished them yet. In these four old rooms classes 5, 6, 7 & 8 are held. Attached to this old building is a small old food preparation room in which class 3 is being run now. Next to it is the new kitchen. Class 4 is being conducted in open ground below the trees or in the verandah.
We are proud to have started this journey. We are grateful and optimistic that people will want to join hands with us. Want to lend a helping hand for this or any of our other projects? Click here to donate.
