About School Kuruvinakoppa village is located in Kalaghatagi Taluk, Dharwad District, Karnataka State, and is about 22 k.m. south of Dharwad city. The population of the village is about 6000 and the major occupation of the locals is agriculture and allied activities. Government of Karnataka started this ‘Higher Primary School’ in 1914. There are 482 kids enrolled in Grades 1-8 in the 2013-2014 academic year. The Domino Effect Sanjeev Acharya, President and CEO of Silicon Sage Builders, Santa Clara, California, USA, graciously adopted and funded the entire project. His generous donation is the first project successfully completed under our “Adopt A School” program, and has generated interest from other donors to do the same! People’s Organisation for Wasteland and Environment Regeneration (POWER), Bijapur, an FCRA (Foreign ContĂ„ributions Regulation Act) registered non-profit organization, used the expertise of their volunteers in overseeing the construction from start to finish.
