School Location: Malur town, Kolar district, Karnataka
No. of Students: 400+
Grades: 1 to 8 (Kannada and English medium)
Requirements: The school had multiple buildings with more than 8 rooms, but only one room was is in good condition. Some of the rooms had holes in the wall and were unsafe and un-usable. The toilets were also in poor condition. The school required 12 classrooms and an office room. As OSAAT proposed to rebuild the school, the government came up with a proposal of building 4 additional new classrooms.
OSAAT Proposal: 8 new classrooms, staff rooms and toilets, in a ground plus one structure.
Estimated Cost: INR 92 lakhs (USD 130K)
Funding: This project was funded by donors in India and USA
Status: Construction started with ground breaking ceremony on 01-July-2019. Project was completed in July 2020 - delay due to COVID-19 pandemic. Furniture were provided by other donors. Laptops and digital tablets are being used as part of OSAAT Digital Infrastructure initiative.
