The school is located around 35 kms from Vijayapura in Jath District of Maharashtra State. Even though its is connected by a good road, it is a very remote place. The school caters to the needs of about 110+ students mostly coming from poor families. Medium of instruction is Kannada. These students are taught by 5 teachers. The school is built and run by Sardar Yashavantarao Savant Shikshan Samstha (Morabagi) with the objective of providing education to poor children, especially girls who will not go to nearby villages for high school. It is a private aided Kannada medium high school. The school caters to the children from Maniknal, Awaralvasti. Jalyal, Bhibargi, Karjagi & Girgaon villages. | There are no other high schools nearby and all the Higher Primary schools feed this high school. Maharashtra Government does not run any High School but gives aid to high schools set up by private parties. The syllabus & text books are supplied by the government and the teachers salaries are paid by the government. No other aid is given by the government. Even though it is a private institution, the education is practically free for the children. The management and the teachers donate towards the day to day expenses and look for donors for major school developments. |
