The Domino Effect

Rotary Club, Banashankari, Bangalore, readily offered their services for this project. They monitored the construction diligently. The inauguration of the new facilities and hand-over were conducted on time and within budget.

POWER (People’s Organization for Wasteland and Environment Regeneration), a Bijapur based non-profit organization joined hands with OSAAT and oversaw the fund transfer and construction.

Both organizations have continued to support the school to date, in many ways.

Before OSAAT Intervention

  • The roof of the building that houses younger kids in grades 1-4 was in a bad condition. It had a weak structural support and not durable.
  • Roof is covered with aluminum sheets resting on wooden logs. The condition of roof was not safe and leaks water when it rained.

    After OSAAT Intervention

    • The flood hit school building has a new, sturdy roof that has made it possible for the building to withstand the rainy season.
    • The building also has brand new flooring and a new kitchen.

    • No more standing water or mildew posing a danger to the health of the kids.
