Naatya Raaga is OSAAT’s annual signature event. First introduced in 2007, Naatya Raaga has become a prestigious platform for hundreds of Bay area amateur artists interested in showcasing their talent in Indian classical music and dance. Given OSAAT’s goal to reach out to rural schools all across India, Naatya Raaga brings together Indian-Americans from every part of India to contribute to OSAAT’s efforts. Their contribution can be in any number of ways – identifying rural schools, adopting or donating to a school of their choice, and volunteering. They get to do all that while enthralling the audience with a wide variety of dance and music styles from every part of India.Another hallmark of Naatya Raaga is the “Kids helping kids” aspect, since the event attracts a huge number of young artists ages 8-17. They participate with great enthusiasm knowing that they are helping kids their own age in rural India get an education.
