I was inspired to write this verse as the competition went along. Each line describes the raga, theme or both, and the last two lines convey my impression of the category on the whole. - Ragavan Manian, Music Contest judge, wrote a spontaneous tamil poem describing the contest experience
English version:
The lamp was lit with Patdeep
There was frolic in the fields of Pahadi
The soul rested in suddha bangala
Kharaharapriya followed, apt for loving worship
And Nand sparked off celebration
The joy in all this stole my heart
In ways I cannot describe!
