Requirements:
  • 5 classrooms with tin roof (from 1954)
  • No electricity - wiring is there, but no meter or electrical lines
  • Wind hazard prone area - roof has been blown off at times.
  • When it rains, teachers have to let the students go - due to water leakage
  • High interest in community children to be enrolled in the school (forced to decline some due to space constraints)
  • Retention of the current 142 students made possible through the excellent quality and dedication of the teachers and the SMC
OSAAT Proposal: OSAAT proposes to build 4 small Classrooms and a Toilet block.
Estimated Cost: INR 58 Lakhs (USD 70K)
Funding: This project is fully funded by a corporate donor in India.
Status: Construction started with the ground breaking ceremony on 08-Sep-2023, expected to be completed in Nov-2024, delayed due to heavy rains in the area.
