School Location: East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya
No. of Students: 389
Grades: classes nursery-5
Requirements:
  • 6 Classrooms with a tin roof
  • Some classrooms have no roof
  • Feeble partitions in small classrooms make it difficult to accommodate 389 children and run different classes
  • Rainy season poses challenges given the roof conditions
  • There are only 2 toilets for boys and 2 for girls for a total of 389 students. Toilet condition is bad.
OSAAT Proposal: OSAAT proposes to build 2 large classrooms and a Toilet block.
Estimated Cost: INR 45 Lakhs (USD 54K)
Funding: This project is fully funded by donors in the USA.
Status: Construction started with the ground breaking ceremony on 08-Sep-2023, completed with the inauguration of new buildings on 29-Nov-2024.
