Contest Format:  

The contest is for amateur artists only. 

Music contest can be entered as a group or individual performance. Vadhya Vahini is for individual performances only.

Classification by type: Indian Classical and Semi-classical 

Classification by age:  Sub-junior (ages 5-9), Junior (ages 10-13) and Senior (14+)

Duration of performance (not to exceed):  

1. Classical – 8 minutes
2. Semi-classical – 6 minutes

OSAAT reserves the right to cancel a category or combine it with another category, based on the number and type of registrations

Participation Criteria:

• All contests will be judged by renowned musicians and artists 
• Participants may contest as solo or groups 
• Groups must be between 3 to 10 participants only 
• Percussion ensembles can perform to any tala of their choice in Hindustani or Carnatic 
• The participant may participate in more than one genre – Carnatic, Hindustani, devotional, percussion, dance etc. 
• Participants may participate in more than one category 
• All music categories are open to both vocal and instrumental 
• No Bollywood or film songs are allowed in either music or dance. 
• In group music categories, Carnatic or Hindustani groups may either include vocal/instrumental/percussion presentations or a combination of all these together. 
• All participants must adhere to the judges / stipulated time limit for each category 

Registration: 

Last date to submit applications is September 15, 2024.

Submit a duly filled out, signed application with a registration fee.

A contestant may compete in more than one category.  Each category requires a separate registration fee.

Registration fees are non-refundable except if a category is canceled.
